Sheba cat food: ingredient review
Record review date: 12 September 2026. Check the current pack and linked evidence. Tell us if this is out of date.
The sourced UK Fine Flakes recipes are complete adult meals, correcting the previous blanket topper-only advice. Perfect Portions and Sauce Collection contain multiple recipes and pack formats, so abbreviated names need a label match. The notes distinguish source markets and remove unsupported across-the-range ingredient and safety claims. Neither a brand name nor a flavour establishes an individual cat’s dietary suitability. Across the 4 Sheba products we have reviewed, these notes cover 4 Sheba products. Check the exact recipe, current ingredients and complete or complementary designation; ingredient ratings alone cannot establish a suitable daily diet.
What we found
There are 4 product records here; 2 have a sourced feeding role. Read the source scope and market before applying it to the pack you have. An unconfirmed role is a gap in our evidence, not proof that a food is unsuitable.
Ingredient order, grain-free wording and price do not by themselves establish nutritional quality. Check completeness, life stage, formulation expertise and quality controls. WSAVA explains the questions to ask.
Sheba product by product
| Product | Category | Feeding role | Summary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sheba Fine Flakes Chicken in Jelly | wet food | Complete food | UK 85g chicken tray is complete adult food, not just a topper. |
| Sheba Fine Flakes Tuna in Jelly | wet food | Complete food | The sourced UK tuna pouch is complete adult food; tuna is not the first listed ingredient. |
| Sheba Perfect Portions Chicken | wet food | Feeding role not confirmed | Perfect Portions has multiple chicken recipes; confirm the texture and full pack name. |
| Sheba Sauces Chicken | wet food | Feeding role not confirmed | A complete UK Sauce Collection counterpart exists; the exact Sauces Chicken pack is unresolved. |

Sheba Fine Flakes Chicken in Jelly Check suitability
A manufacturer completeness statement is a starting point. Match the species and life stage, and check suitability for your own cat.
Mars / SHEBA · United Kingdom · Checked 12 September 2026
Fine Flakes Chicken in Jelly 85g tray. Other pack formats and local imports require a label match.
The manufacturer describes the UK Chicken in Jelly tray as complete adult food. Its panel starts with meat and animal derivatives, specifies chicken within the chunks and lists cassia gum among additives. It does not support the old chicken-first, rice-starch and carrageenan description. Match the 85g tray and market on your pack before applying these notes; the complete-food statement does not establish a special diet for an individual medical condition.
Sheba Fine Flakes Tuna in Jelly Check suitability

Tuna variety within the Fine Flakes Fish Selection 85g pouch multipack, not the entire selection treated as one recipe.
The Fish Selection page identifies the range as complete adult food and supplies the tuna variety’s ingredient panel. It begins with meat and animal derivatives, then fish and fish derivatives including tuna; cassia gum is listed. This does not support the old tuna-first or carrageenan claims. No product-specific evidence was provided for the previous mercury warning or instruction never to use it as a main diet. Match your pouch to this UK formulation.
Sheba Perfect Portions Chicken We've seen this product sold in Singapore but couldn't verify the full ingredient panel from the brand's own source. Missing information is not proof of poor quality or of a suitable serving. Check the current pack before choosing it. If you have a photo of the ingredient panel, we'd love it:meow@urbancatowner.com.
Check the exact pack for its complete or complementary statement and intended life stage before choosing it as a daily food.

Related Grilled in Savory Sauce Marinated Chicken 2.64 oz twin-pack. The abbreviated record does not distinguish gravy, grilled or pate recipes.
The linked US Grilled in Savory Sauce chicken twin-pack is complete adult food. It is one of several chicken products in Perfect Portions, including pate and cuts-in-gravy options, so it cannot establish the exact ingredients of this abbreviated record. The earlier blanket carrageenan claim has been removed. The split pack is a practical serving format, but its name does not mean one compartment is a full day’s food for every cat.
Sheba Sauces Chicken We've seen this product sold in Singapore but couldn't verify the full ingredient panel from the brand's own source. Missing information is not proof of poor quality or of a suitable serving. Check the current pack before choosing it. If you have a photo of the ingredient panel, we'd love it:meow@urbancatowner.com.

Related Sauce Collection Poultry Selection, chicken variety. The generic Sauces Chicken name needs exact-pack confirmation.
The UK Sauce Collection Poultry Selection includes a chicken variety and is described as complete adult food. That does not identify the exact product behind the shorter Sauces Chicken name. Its chicken panel starts with meat and animal derivatives and includes cereals, rather than supporting the earlier simple chicken-first description. The previous caramel-colouring and carrageenan claims were not grounded in an exact-pack source and have been removed.
