Temporary closure overrides normal pet access. NParks distinguishes pet-permitted boardwalks and park areas from the nature reserve, where pets are prohibited. Its boardwalk works notice gives an expected completion date, not a confirmed reopening.
Ask the team about your plans before you book or travel, especially if your cat needs a particular space or arrangement.

Berlayer Creek Boardwalk is closed for improvement works, with NParks expecting completion on 31 March 2027. Do not plan a cat outing here until reopening is confirmed. Labrador visitor guidance permits pets on boardwalks and park areas but excludes them from the nature reserve. The works notice shows an alternative route for people; it is not blanket approval to take a cat through protected areas. If choosing another permitted park route, use secure containment appropriate to your cat and be ready to leave if the surroundings cause distress. There is no verified cat-specific rest area or escape-proof space at this listing.
